The Regional Sports Friendship Games of Mindanao Association of State Tertiary Schools, Inc. (MASTS) with the theme, “Building a Culture of Peace and Harmony through Sports” was held on December 10-15, 2017 at Camiguin Polytechnic State College (CPSC). Surigao del Sur State University (SDSSU) participated the said regional competitions, luckily, SDSSU Cagwait Campus has sent two talented and skillful Beach Volleyball (Men) athletes namely; Mr. Jesryl Dublas (BSIT 3-Automotive Technology) and Mr. Leomar Bucio (BSIT 2-Computer Technology). With the guidance of the competent coach, Engr. Ian A. Cruza and with their consistent training and determination, the two garnered gold medal and awarded as the over-all champion/1st placer which gave much honor and pride to the SDSSU team in the field of Beach Volleyball. As reward and recognition to their success , the two were exempted from the Prelim Examination as approved by the course instructors.  Indeed, the university administration, faculty, staff and students were very happy and grateful for the success of the two talented athletes and coach that gave the University a mark on the beach volleyball field.
