Tandag City- Hon Prospero A. Pichay, Jr., Representative of the 1st District of Surigao Del Sur joined the 33rd Commencement Exercises Monday afternoon of April 3, 2017. Pichay acclaimed the graduates as they finished degree and hurdled to pursue education notwithstanding the challenges of the time. More than 2,000 spectators packed the school’s gymnasium to witness the said event. This year’s graduation ceremonies bear the theme: Go Global: A Cross-Border Responsive Challenge in Higher Education attended by the members of the Board Regent, Parents, Stakeholders, and the full force of SDSSU Teaching and Non-Teaching Personnel. Dr. Baceledes R. Estal, SUC President II, confirmed 981 candidates for graduation through board resolution no 3 series of 2017 duly signed by the members of the Board of Regent headed by the Hon. Prospero E. De Vera, the chairperson.SDSSU continues to earn institutional accolades every year by consistently producing passers in the professional licensure examinations for teachers, engineers and midwifery which is above the national passing rate making the Institution highly competitive among the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the country.
