The PNP, in its efforts to reduce criminality among the populace has cooperated with the various subdivisions of the society namely the media, educational institutions, the church and the business sector.

Statistical data was presented to shed light on the correlation of the rise of criminality in Surigao del Sur with the major societal problems such as poverty and drug abuse.

It is therefore the role of SDSSU, as one of the partners of the PNP in this initiative,  to impart education and awareness upon the youth regarding the effects or consequences of committing crimes and the measures to be done to prevent or avoid the commission thereof.
