On July 27, 2018, Rev. Fr. John Christian U. Young reported to the Board the result of the evaluation of the accomplishments of Dr. Baceledes R. Estal.  In his report, Fr. Young articulated all the accomplishments of Dr. Estal as President from July 2014 to June 2018. These accomplishments were validated through on-site evaluation, document evaluation and interviews. He emphasized that the whole academic community of Surigao del Sur State University are one in supporting the re-appointment of DR. Baceledes R. Estal.  The interview with various stakeholders’ representatives, faculty, staff, students and middle-level managers was done in the afternoon of June 28, 2018. These groups were interviewed as grouped. During the interview, common question thrown as to what rating would they gave to Dr. Estal from a rating of 1-10. Surprisingly, they gave a rating of 9 and the remaining 1 point remains to be accomplished by the President. Hence, they all vouched for the re-appointment of Dr. Estal.

In addition, the interviewees described Dr. Estal as hands-on president, makatao, maloloy-on sa mga kabus, makatao, visible, approachable, action man, supportive, dedicated, open-minded, flexible, positive attitude, fatherly, and good adviser.

On the other hand, the faculty representatives when asked of what is that 1 point that they wanted the President to focus. Their answer was planning and strengthen his foresight especially in conducting activities. They also wanted him to focus on the faculty development referring to the long-term development plan for the faculty to avert competition among themselves.

Generally, all the members of the academic community present during the interview have one and common want: TO RENEW DR. ESTAL AS PRESIDENT OF SDSSU.

Given this recommendation of the Evaluation Committee, the Board through the motion of Congressman Prospero B. Pichay, Jr, unanimously voted for the RE-APPOINTMENT OF DR. BACELEDES R. ESTAL as President of Surigao del Sur State University from the period covering July 27, 2018 to June 26, 2022.
