Based on web visibility, transparency, and excellence, the North Eastern Mindanao State University (formerly Surigao del Sur State University) placed 4th in the Caraga Region according to the recent report of Webometrics Ranking of World Universities (July 2023 edition).

Evaluated by the Cybermetrics Lab, the global ranking encompasses 31,000 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across 200 countries, and operates on the aim of promoting general accessibility to the academic and cultural knowledge generated in diverse HEIs.

Moreover, the institution also managed to break into the 215th ranking in the Top Philippine Universities of the same quantitative research body, further cementing its place in the educational landscape of the country.
